My first-ever logo design, Gully Busters, holds a special place in my heart. I created it in support of my wife’s (then-girlfriend’s) community science program with Friends of the Verde River—an initiative born from her master’s project at Western Colorado University. Knowing how much effort she had poured into it, I wanted to contribute something that would make the project feel real, giving it a strong visual identity. The logo incorporates an established color palette, a distinctive mountain range, and a water droplet shape framing a stylized gully, with the title banner subtly nodding to the iconic Ghostbusters logo. Though it’s one of my earliest works—and one I’d love to revisit one day—it remains in active use today, supporting vital restoration projects within the Verde Watershed.
